Kath Gorman has over 16 years arts management experience. For the past 2 years she has built up a successful freelance career working on a range of projects such as event and project management, training, strategic plans, organisational development, fundraising and evaluation. Kath has extensive experience within the performing arts sector and recent/current clients include Border Crossings Theatre Company, international producers Crying Out Loud, Green Candle Dance Company and the Roundhouse. She is also a Board Director of the Little Angel Theatre.
Kath is highly experienced in project managing professional development projects. Projects include; the management of an Artist Bursary Scheme for disability arts agency Dada-South; the evaluation of NESTA’s Dreamtime Fellowship Programme; and mentoring support to a number of dance artists as part of creating a five year dance strategy for Hull City Council Arts Unit. From Jan 2003 – Sept 2005 she was also a freelance Business Advisor for cultural agency Prevista focussing on providing one to one business advice through undertaking an initial diagnostic review then more tailored support on specific topics such as project management, fundraising and marketing.
Prior to her freelance career she was the Director of arts centre Jacksons Lane and responsible for increasing its turnover to £675,000 from £450,000 per annum. She has also worked for Red Shift Theatre Company and the National Youth Music Theatre.
